Commercial solar PV installation

One contractor accountable for your commercial solar installation.

Arc-led delivery for commercial rooftop and solar PV across London and the home counties. Our own people, our supply chain, our delivery risk, from design through to commissioning and handover.

  • One accountable party for the build, not a chain of subcontractors
  • DNO and G99 or G100 applications run in parallel with construction
  • Commissioned, documented and handed over to a standard your asset manager can use

The problem

Commercial projects rarely fail on the panels. They fail on the interfaces.

Grid, structure, access and commissioning are where programmes slip and costs move. Each one sits between parties, and on most jobs no single party owns it. Arc takes the build so there is one organisation answerable for the outcome.

Grid discovered late

The DNO position is checked after the design is fixed. Export limits, reinforcement costs and connection dates then force a redesign.

Quotes that cannot be compared

Three prices, three different scopes, three different yield assumptions. The cheapest number usually carries the most excluded work.

Handover nobody owns

The system energises, the contractor leaves, and the asset arrives with no documentation pack, no commissioning record and no maintenance route.

What we deliver

Four workstreams across a typical delivery mandate.

01

Site and build management

Arc takes the site lead. Programme set, milestones tracked, daily site management handled. You have one accountable point of contact through delivery.

02

Contractor and supply chain

Installation, electrical, civils and balance-of-system trades coordinated from a single delivery team through Arc's vetted supply chain.

03

DNO, G99 and G100

Grid connection application and commissioning managed in parallel with construction. The interface where most projects slip, handled actively rather than reactively.

04

Commissioning and handover

End-to-end commissioning, performance verification, documentation pack, MCS where applicable, and handover to the asset owner or asset manager.

Why Arc delivers it

An advisory firm's governance, applied to the build.

Arc spends most of its time advising property funds and institutional owners on other people's installations. Delivery work carries that same discipline: documentation, programme governance and reporting run to the standard those clients expect, even when we are the contractor rather than the consultancy.

One party carries the risk

Arc takes the build, runs the site and manages the supply chain. There is one organisation responsible for the outcome.

Advice and delivery kept separate

Where Arc is the delivery party, we are not also the independent consultancy on the same project. The roles are structurally separate.

Built for commercial sites

Rooftop PV, and solar carports for commercial and public sector buildings. We do not install domestic systems.

Regulated and certified

RICS regulated, ISO 9001 and 14001, CHAS Advanced, NAPIT and MCS. The checks your procurement team will run.

MULTI-SITE ROLLOUT

Central London estate: 248 kWp

Rooftop solar across three buildings for one landlord, including 109 kWp on a Grade II listed building, taken through design, planning consent and commissioning.

ROOFTOP AND FACADE

Headquarters building: 109 kWp

77.35 kWp on the roof in 2022, then 31.8 kWp on the south west wall in 2025, in a conservation area. Arc surveyed, designed, consented and delivered both.

HEALTHCARE ROOFTOP

Medical facility, Wales: 1.5 MWp

Solar Laid in blocks across the metal roof of a medical facility, with clear lanes left between arrays for access and maintenance.

What happens next

From postcode to firm price in three steps.

Desktop assessment

From your postcode and a recent electricity bill we model indicative capacity, annual output, self-consumption and cost, and check the grid position. 3-5 Business Days

Survey and firm price

We survey the roof or site, confirm the structural and electrical position, and issue a fixed scope and price with the exclusions written down.

Build and handover

Arc runs the site and the grid application, commissions the system and hands it over with the full documentation pack. Maintenance can follow under a separate O&M contract.

Questions

Before you get in touch

What size of project do you deliver?
Rooftop solar PV from low tens of kWp through to mid-MWp scale, and below NSIP scale. Larger projects are scoped case by case. Battery storage and EV charging are delivered under separate services.
Where do you work?
Installation work is focused on London and the home counties. Our delivery team covers up to Manchester and across to Bristol, and consultancy is UK-wide.
Will Arc deliver and advise on the same project?
No. Where Arc is the delivery party we are not also the independent consultancy on that project. Clients who want independent oversight engage a separate Arc team under a separate contract.
How long does a grid connection take?
It depends on the DNO, the capacity and the existing supply. We check the position at assessment stage and run the application alongside construction rather than after it.
Can you take over a project already underway?
Yes, where the existing contractor relationship can be cleanly resolved and the residual programme and risk position is acceptable. We assess mid-project takeover in writing before committing.
We lease the building. Is that a problem?
Not necessarily, but lease length and landlord consent shape what is worth doing. Tell us the tenure on the form and we will tell you early rather than after a survey.
